What to wear
Memorial to a Sunny Day from
StonethwaiteBorrowdale is the wettest place in Britain:  The local joke is of a memorial to a sunny day in Borrowdale, on the wall of a pub in Stonethwaite.

So please come prepared for a wet day, but at that time of year we do have hopes of it being fine, dry and sunny.

Either way, you will be welcome in sou'westers and wellingtons!

Latest news
15 Feb: Reception details are being finalised!

We have booked the Lodore Falls Hotel for the Reception, and have arranged for the format to be a cold buffet meal with a formal seating plan up to the speeches, followed by a ceilidh and a disco. We have arranged for Striding Edge to run the ceilidh for us, and for our friend Ben to run the disco afterwards.

The plan is for the service at Grange Methodist Church to be between 2pm and 3pm, followed by photographs (weather permitting!) and then transport to the hotel, with the Reception to begin by about 5pm.  The meal and speeches should take us up to around 7pm, followed by the ceilidh with the band until about 10pm, after which Ben takes over with the disco.

We need your suggestions - for hymns for the service.  We have the first, but we would like two more.  If you have a favourite you'd like to sing with us please let us know, because we're open to ideas and we want to choose ones that we can all sing with gusto!
Relocation
Latest info on our search for a place in the Lakes for when we return from Canada.  Some of these have sold already, unfortunately for us, but new ones are popping up - page to be updated with them very soon!

This page will be updated as plans develop, and as venues are booked.
If you need any help with advice on the area, or with travel plans, or if you have any suggestions
for what would be useful advice or information to post here, please let Rob know.
